Nenagh Community Nursing Unit Case Study

Euro Gas Ltd were invited by J.V Tierney & Co Consulting Engineers to help with the selection of equipment for a new 50 bed community nursing unit based in Nenagh. The brief was for the building to be heated by means of air source heat pump with the assistance, when required, by a gas fired boiler. The heat pump should also contribute as a pre heat for DHW working hand in hand with direct gas fired water heaters. This was accomplished by using a Hidros LHA ASHP which boasted a SCOP of 3.75, this in turn, feeds into a Cordivari buffer vessel.

Remora Gas ACE 220The assistance is provided by a Remeha Gas 220 Ace which offers the very latest in condensing boiler technology with a controls platform which offers full text display. The domestic hot water is produced using 2 No. Lochinvar EcoKnight direct gas fired water heaters. These are a fully condensing, stainless steel water heater with low NOx emissions, achieving efficiencies up to 97.8% GCV. The job of installing all of this equipment fell to Blanchfield Heating who carried out the work to the highest standard with a great understanding of the design concept and have left the client with a clean and tidy plantroom.
