Case Study: DCU Residences
Euro Gas Ltd were invited by Bann Mechanical to look at the upgrade of the existing Rendamax R605 LPHW boilers in DCU Residences. The existing boilers had come towards the end of their natural working life, having originally been supplied by Euro Gas in the late 1990’s. Thankfully Rendamax have been aware of this retrofit scenario in the development of their latest R600 EVO range. The new boilers have been designed to replace their predecessor with little to no changes in pipework.
The new installation took advantage of a Spirocombi deaerator and dirt separator complete with magnet for added protection. Due to the age of the original boilers the new boilers required the flue to be suitable for a fully condensing boiler.
Dinak flues were chosen to line the existing chimney, complete with a new 316L stainless Steel header being supplied and installed by John J Doyle Flues.
Jonathan Anderson from Bann Mechanical commented:
“This project required a really quick turnaround and thankfully Euro Gas were able to supply the boilers and Spirocombi units in a timely manner. They also managed the timing of the flue install team so that there were no delays on site. We are delighted with the finished result and the service we have been able to offer to the client.”
